PRAYER TOPICS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
[2006-12-01] Dear Coworkers,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ our savior and redeemer. When I heard about Nicole passing away, my first reaction was being in a shock. To hear about a young woman who is full of life pass away like that is not easy. My heart was broken as I thought about her daughter Israel. But during these difficult times we can look at our Lord and see what he is doing. He is full of grace and compassion. Most of all, he respected us so much that he chose us to share in his work in different forms and ways. Our Lord respected Nicole so much and chose her to pass his message in this way by her influence to the closest people around her.Someone may ask, how could a death of a young woman participate in sharing in God's plan. I am most certain that as our Lord took her to be with him he is using her death to bring salvation through Jesus to the hearts of many who are around her and especially her family. God bring us to this world for a certain period of time and he knows when we will go home. Our task as we are still in this world is to fulfill what he planned for us. The Lord chose that Nicole finished her task and it was time for her to go home. We too, there will be a time for us to go home. But will this make us afraid and think when will we go home. Not at all, we have peace that our destiny is not but in God's hands, our Father, and we know for sure his compassion and love for us.
Dear brothers and sisters, Nicole's passing away gives us an insight that while we are in this world we need to be ready and in the best spiritual shape when we meet our Lord. We never know when this will happen, but we can know one thing, that every passing day is a chance for us to serve him and fulfill his plan for us. Many times I relax and take it easy or take the back seat, but through Nicole, my eyes were opened to realize that we can't waste anytime and we need to finish our mission and task. I also realized that we need to do God's work with one heart and one mind. The first step is to have God's love in our hearts.
During our conference in Sudan the title of the conference was " Go and make disciples of all nations." I was assigned to deliver the closing message. I chose Matthew 5: 43-47 which says " You have heard that it was said,'Love your neighbor and hate your enemies. But I tell you:Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? De perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Then I realized how could we make disciples of those whom we don't like and rather we hate. We should not hate but love everyone in this world, so we need to have the love of God in our hearts. If we do so, we can have a chance to make disciples of all nations. So, I really pray sincerely to love everyone and serve them. Nicole's death is teaching us that we still have time to love others and show them this love. She is teaching us that she did her part in this world and it is up to us who are still here to complete the task. She taught me that I need to step it up and work harder as the sun rose on me every morning. And may your hearts be touched also and be encouraged to use every shining morning for his glory until we are completely enjoying the light with Nicole. May God bless you and be with you always.
With much love,
Moses Marji [2006-09-19] Sh. M, Sudan...
Dear Coworkers,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for his grace and blessings in our lives each day where ever we are. I thank God because he brought us together to know him while we were in various places looking for something else in life. The Lord brought us by his grace and loved us so much. I thank you for all your prayers and support to my family continually. God blessed this sinner with such a beautiful family that prays and help me and my co-worker.
I am very sorry that I did not write you so often. I need to overcome this bad habit and repent to send you always my prayer topics and hear from you so that we can pray for each other. Sometimes it feels very lonely here even though it is very busy. Your hearts were always warm and loving towards me and Iris.
These days we are preparing for the yearly bible conference which will be held between the 25th and the 27th of October. We are praying for 100 attendants. Also please pray that new disciples may be raised through this conference. The messages will be from Matthew's gospel. There are 4 main messages, opening message, closing message and morning devotion. There will be life testimonies and Group bible studies. The names of the messengers and the group leaders are not set yet. We are still praying for the suitable candidates for each event.
Life in Sudan is changing rapidly and many of the christian southerners moved back to the south from Khartoum including some shepherds. This reduced the members of our congregation, but it also opened the way to pray more sincerely about the other groups of people in Sudan to come to Jesus. I pray that God open the door to the hearts of many Sudanese until the word of God bring them to Jesus and change Sudan to become a K.P.H.N. also as a preparation to a large scale to reach all N. A and M.E.
My family's prayer topics are as follow:
1. To co work well with the K. family and be a good help to them.
2. To feed 12 sheep starting with D., S., L., C. and Su.
3. To be a good influence on the Sudanese Shepherds.
4. To prepare Arabic daily bread regularly and on time.
5. To have our own Biz. in God's time ( a language institute)
6. To have good health especially Nathanael.
Thank you for your prayers.
Please send me your prayer topics so that me and my co-worker pray for you.
Your servant in Christ,
